How To Google Analytics June 2008 Seminars!
May 21st
Google Analytics is one the more comprehensive site stats tools available, and as such, it is loaded with many features.
Did you know with Google Analytics you can find out the following from your site or blog visitors:
- What city they are from
- What exact keywords they used to find you
- What day and time they visited your blog
- Where exactly they came from
- and so much more
Below is a video on Google Analytics and How To Get Started With It.
If you run a site or blog, it is terribly important to add a solid stats counter to your marketing arsenal. Why? Because you will want to know who is visiting, how they found you, when they visit, if they are repeat visitors, and more. Why? So you can tailor your content to attract more of your “TYPE” of visitor. More visitors equals more traffic, more traffic equals more interaction, subscribers, income, etc.
Google Analytics is offered for FREE to all, and just about every blogger i know uses it. It is easy to add to your site or blog, and easy to use. Many bloggers use two stats tools, they will use both GA and also an additional stats package like StatsCounter. Why? It’s the ole “not having all your eggs in one basket” type deal. That’s all. Plus some like the different options and interface available from different stats vendors.
If you live in Boston, Orlando, or Chicago, check out one of the June 2008 Google Analytics Seminars.
There are two versions, a basic one, and an advanced one. Both are offered by certified Google Analytics Consultants.
4 Must Have Twitter Tools
May 19th
If you’re madly in love with Twitter, like me, then here are a few cool tools you need to know about.
- Twirl – If you don’t want to have the Twitter website open all the time, get one of the fancy IM clients, like Twirl. Then you just have this neat Twitter widget running on the background, opening or checking it at your leisure
- TweetBurner – Want to track links you submit, and see if anyone is actually clicking on them? Try TweetBurner. This Twitter app awesomely integrates with Twirl above, too
- Summize – Wondering what people are talking about? Interested to see who is covering your niche? Try Summize. This is a Twitter search site. The advanced search tab on the homepage allows for some serious digging.
- Quotably – shabby interface, doesn’t look web 2.0 at all, but it is useful. If you want to see a more choreographed conversation graph, then the default one on the homepage of Twitter, this is a good bet. Try it.
There are loads more Twitter tools and apps, these are just 4 that i use daily and highly recommend. Try them.
Which are ytour fave Twitter apps?
EntreCard Now Allows Multiple Blogs
May 19th
Received an email this morning on changes going on at Entrecard. It looks like Graham, the founder, is hard at work making Entrecard ever more useful to bloggers. He states through the email that one of the big changes is that bloggers can now add several blogs to their account, and or link several accounts to just one.
Below is a screenshot that shows the new field in the dashboard, where bloggers can now add additional blogs they have to EC. The frontpage gets a makeover, and there is a new eBook out, which explains Entrecard in good detail for newbies.
Graham discusses the changes, and a cool EC credits contest on the blog.
Good luck in winning the 15,000 EC credits.
