I went to Twitter Counter earlier today to grab the code to add their widget on this blog, and found a new addition called Twitter Remote.

This new service reminds me of the My Blog Log and Blog Catalog widgets that capture and display recent visitors.
Essentially this widget works the same way. Grab the HTML code from the Twitter Remote website and add to your blog, then as visitors come from Twitter they are captured and displayed on your blog.
I really like the idea, but they need to do some serious tweaking to the look and feel of the widget. There are only a few customization options including text color, number of rows, and width. That’s it. If they spruce it up, i will add it to my blogs. Until then, it’s a no go for me.
What do you think? Will you be using Twitter Remote.
P.S. Not on Twitter, yet? Grab a copy of my Awesome Twitter Guide…a beginners guide to Twitter. The guide covers everything you need to get started today – including how to use Twitter, how to find followers, and what to tweet about.

Thanks for the review! What kind of customization options would you need? We can add everything we want but we also want to keep things simple for people. Would you like font’s more colors, background? Tell us and we will build it!
Hey, Boris:
Thanxs for coming by! Appreciate the visit. My concern is size – i want the widget in a certain width and height so that it fits my personal wp theme. Would totally add the Twitter Remote Widget, if i can make it fit how i want.
Let me know. Thx again!
Well that shouldn’t be a problem! You can make it as wide as you want and choose the amount of rows you want to show too…
Hi Boris: I’ve added my profile to Twitter Remote but I can’t see my profile on your plugin… Do you know why? Could it be that it doesn’t display my own avatar on page?
Hi, there. Good question – i’m not sure if Boris will come by and see this. But i will look into it and let you know myself. Thx for coming by my blog.

I’m here. The remote embedded at this blog uses the default variables which means the code wasn’t generated correctly. Please re-generate it here:
http://twittercounter.com/pages/remote?username_owner=m38967
paste the code here and it should all work our fine…
I am way into combining twitter and wordpress ~ there are just so many ways to leverage the dynamics of twitter with the content creation of wordpress ~ way cool
Just saw your post!
I need to add that twitter counter to my new blog! thanks for reminding me!
Some of these tools are new to me, maybe you could add them to my site for review.
