For July 2008 affiliate marketing network, Pepperjam Network has exciting news.
First if you dont know what affiliate marketing is, it is essentially a way for you to earn money by selling others peoples stuff. Affiliate networks facilitate this type of service, for bloggers and net marketers. Well that is the simplified definition. For a more robust explanation, read this excellent primer on affiliate marketing.
I joined PJN recently, and one of the things i like about this network is the accessibility factor, you can easily reach the staff (heck even the CEO, Kris Jones) via multiple communication channels, including IM, email (and my personal fave) their blog.
They also have a slew of merchants listed, including eBay, Webmaster Radio, Text Link Ads (boo! to that one), SEOMoz, PlayBoy Store, and others. eBay is a great money maker. If you’re a blogger and have yet to try and make money with the eBay affiliate program, now is a great time to join PJN and do so.
The good news i mentioned above is that for the month of July, Peppejam is offering some very nice incentives for us bloggers.
1. )The lead payout has increased to a generous $7. So every blogger you refer to the program (*and gets approved) nets you a $7 referral commission
2.) Write about the PJN new incentives on your blog (like i have), and they will send $10 bucks your way, for spreading the word.
3.) If you join the network, (and you should) you get another $10
Pepperjam is an up and coming affiliate marketing network that is growing leaps and bounds. They were recently featured on a report by Marketing Sherpa, which highlights the bounds, and the leaps.
Zac Johnson (an affiliate marketing expert), also recently wrote PJN, do check it out as well.

This update introduces you to two very cool finds. One is the word awesomesauce (cleverly adopted by blogger david risley) this is the hilarious term he uses to describe the latest twitter tool /app/ widget called Twellow.

It is the newest craze in twitterland. You know i really have to come up with a devilishly clever term to describe something. Lets see what awefabulous niftyrella groovycheese whippercrack word i can conjure up. Anywho to get back on topic, lets say a thing or two on Twellow.
Twellow allows members of micro blogging site Twitter, to easily search for other members of common interest. Say you want to meet and mingle with other greenies or vegetarians? Head on over to the green or vegetarian categories, or alternatively you can perform a search. As you will see (yours truly) is #6 in the veggie category. You can also add yourself to the list here.
Who comes up first, second, and so on, on the list is ordered up by number of followers. He who has the most ends up first on the list for said category.
I played around with Twellow, one pet peeve, is the inability to follow directly from their interface. Like when i search for like minded people, naturally the next step would be to follow them. But alas i still need to head on over to Twitter for this. Arrggh!
All in all the new twitter app Twellow…..is groovycheese! (i know. i know. that isnt quite as cool a term as awesomesauce)
***more blogger talk about Twellow at Technorati and Google Blog Search. You can also follow awesomesauce.

With the release of a NEW! widget, called TwitterCounter, you can now display your twitter follower count on your blog.
Just like the Feedburner chicklet displays the number of your RSS subscribers, the chicklet from TwitterCounter, will display (in similar fashion) the number of followers you have through Twitter.
Simple, quick to install, and free…this is a neat add on for your blog. They have also assembled a Top 100, which showcases the most popular Twitterers, as determined by number of followers.
What do you think of displaying your follower count on your blog? Do you think you will add this chicklet to your blog? Speak your peace below.
