The NEW! Notepad Wordpress Theme is quite original, and i can see it being used by a variety of niche bloggers. Take a peek below.

The theme is not like most wp themes, it features a large centered intro box, a stripe at top for announcements, a placeholder at the bottom with split content sections. On the left side of bottom section is a widget area, and on the bottom right, your most recent blog posts. No sidebars.

It also comes in a slew of colors, including light and dark colors. The black one is featured above in the thumbnail.

I really like it, and will be using it on a new blog. The wordpress theme notepad is free, and was created by iThemes.

The theme is aimed at consultants, professionals, such as real estate guys/gals, etc. But as i stated above, i think it has many good uses.

Do you use photos on every blog post? If so, then PhotoDropper, a new wordpress plugin, is going to be a big time saver for you.

Essentially with the wordpress plugin PhotoDropper, you are able to search and add FLICKR photos right from your Wordpress dashboard. It searches (via keyword) within the Creative Commons licensed photos, the ones made available for shared use. Then with 1-click you are able to add the photo (complete with attribution link) to your blog post. See sample photo below, keyword = wordpress.

PhotoDropper is extremely handy for those of us bloggers, who use photos in every blog post, and/ or who have several blogs to photo-rize. Simply download, activate as usual in your Wordpress dashboard, and that’s pretty much it. The plugin is free and if you use photos alot, this is a must have blog tool for you.

Ian Fernando has written up an excellent review on the super cool wordpress plugin called OIO Publisher. Below is my brief take on it, i recommend you head on over to Ian’s blog, and read the full unbiased review.

Essentially with this plugin your Wordpress powered blog can sell ads direct, taking the pesky third wheel out of the equation, and netting you 100% commission.

With OIOPublisher you can increase the revenue your presently making through a third party ad network, such as TLA, by keeping all the ad money to yourself. And in case you’re wondering, there is NO splitting of commission with the creator of the plugin, one devil-ishly clever Simon Emery.

If you run a blog (or blogs) then you will surely fall in love with Wordpress, and it’s many features. One issue you will have early on is deciding amongst the plethora of wordpress themes available. There are both free WP themes and also fee-based WP themes. Let me quickly tell you about Structure from Justin Tadlock, a free WP theme.

I’m really digging this wordpress theme Structure by Justin Tadlock. It is a magazine style theme with great composition and layout, great use of color, and cool web 2.0 features like video embed, an image gallery, and prominent 125×125 ad placeholders.

You can tell when a blogger designs a WP theme, because they throw in blogger specific extras like Justin has done. You will find several useful wordpress plugin’s built in the theme. I like this one alot, and did i mention it’s 100% free. I will have to find a blog to use it on.

If you’re looking for a modern Wordpress theme for your blog, Structure by Justin Tadlock, is definitely worth a look.
